Match Report: Yorkshire Post: 5th April 1920:

LEEDS UNITED 5 v NEWCASTLE CITY 0

LEEDS UNITED v NEWCASTLE CITY

About 2,000 spectators witnessed Leeds United's second victory in their Easter programme. Against Newcastle City Amateurs, a team largely of an experimental character gave an excellent account of themselves, from a goal-scoring point of view, although it must be recorded that the display of the visitors was more scientific, but lacked the necessary forcefulness to carry any attack home. The first goal was obtained after twenty minutes play, Jones netting the ball smartly. Ten minutes later Barnsby increased the United score. A minute later Watson the Newcastle Right Back, put the ball through his own goal, and before the interval Barnsby finished a long straight run by again scoring. Thus the Leeds men were leading at the interval by 4 goals to none. Considering the wet state of the ground, the pace of the second half was fast, and both goals were hotly assailed, but Jones, of the United was the only man to score.
